Rag mice

Funny stuffed mice with embroidered smooth eyes will please both children and adults. And do not forget to sew or knit warm scarves for them!

Small mouse size: 17 x 10 cm.
Big mouse size: 24 x 16 cm.
Details of the mouse pattern are shown in the photo series. Print the drawings on paper and on a Xerox proportionally enlarge them to the desired size.

Next, the details of the pattern must be transferred to tracing paper and cut.
YOU WILL NEED: for a small mouse: a flap of tissue for the body measuring 30 x 25 cm (for example, with interwoven metallic threads of golden color); brown fleece or woolen cloth for a scarf. For a large mouse: a flap of fabric for the body measuring 50 x 35 cm (for example, fleece or wool fabric in light pink); white lace flap; pink embroidery threads. Additionally for both mice: black embroidery thread; cotton wool for filling; suitable sewing threads; tracing paper.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: fold the flaps of tissue across the floor with the front side inwards, cut out 2 symmetrical torso parts for each mouse with allowances along the contours 1 cm wide. For each mouse, cut 4 parts of the ears without allowances. The body parts of each mouse are folded with the front sides, 2 parts of the ears with the wrong sides. Stuff the ears to the edge.
Stroke the details of the body of each mouse, leaving an invert portion in the seam open. Cut corners of the seam allowances obliquely, cut in several places at the rounding sections. Turn both bodies and fill with cotton. Sew open areas of seams manually. If desired, sew strips of fabric as tails. Along the straight sections of the ears, lay along the fold, sew the folds with hand stitches along the sections (see the line of the ear-stitching seam on the body pattern). Embroider eyes with triple black thread for embroidery.
Scarf for a small mouse: cut a strip of approx. 22 cm and a width of 3 cm. For short sections of the scarf, make a fringe of approx. 3 cm. Wrap the scarf around the neck of a small mouse and fix it on the body with hand stitches.
Shawl and head decoration for a big mouse: cut a triangle from a lace cloth as a shawl. Wrap the shawl around the neck of a large mouse and fix it on the body with hand stitches. Cut a motif with a diameter of approx. 2 cm and sew on the head between the ears. Sew several pieces of thread for pink embroidery as a strand of hair.
