This tree is brightly decorated in ethno-style and brings a very special cosiness and charm. Felt balls and embossed foil immediately create a festive atmosphere.

It turns out that these two completely different materials are perfectly combined with each other. Here we will tell you in detail how to make felt balls and embossed foil pendants on a Christmas tree.

Balls made of felt, warm and soft, will give the New Year holiday a special retro charm.

STEP 1

Cut out a petal-shaped pattern from paper. For one ball you will need 6 of these parts. Put a paper part on a piece of felt, chop and cut the desired number of parts. Then put on a felt of a different color and also cut the desired number of parts.

STEP 2

Fold two parts of felt (those that you will sew together) and make holes in the edges with a hole punch at an interval of 5 mm. Tip: Holes are easier to punch if you lay a thin sheet of paper down.

STEP 3

Before stitching the details of the ball, embroider different motifs on the individual parts with multi-colored embroidery threads. Draw a motif with a marker with disappearing paint directly on the part.

STEP 4

Sew the ball together with either thick woolen yarn or a leather cord (such as the “Christmas boot,” see the Children section). Before making the last stitch, fill the ball with cotton.

STEP 5

Sew a loop for hanging from one end, and a fringe from a cord or yarn at the other end, having previously strung a bead. Tie the ends under the bead tightly with embroidery thread.

Foil pendants are the perfect retro-style Christmas tree decoration. They are remembered even by our great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers.

For them you will need: silver foil for embossing and embossing tool; the remains of felt of different colors; remnants of wool yarn in different colors; sharp-pointed embroidery needle; ordinary scissors and zigzag; hole puncher; glue; marker with resistant paint and tape for hanging.

Pendants are made like this: on the back of the foil with a marker, apply the main shape of the future suspension. Cut a zigzag along the contour with scissors. On the surface of the pendant, with embossing tools, apply a variety of patterns arbitrarily. Work them on both the front and rear of the suspension. Cut small figures of different geometric shapes from felt, sew them with woolen yarn into different ornaments and embroider. Glue the ornament in the middle of the pendant. Make a hole with a hole punch and tie a hanging ribbon on it.
