This kimono-cape can also be sewn from knitwear or other flowing fabric and decorate the hem and sleeves with tassels, and from the stole - then you need to cut the details, bearing in mind the existing decor.

A kimono-cloak can replace a shawl or a spacious cardigan, become convenient and comfortable home clothes or complement a casual set. Much depends on the choice of material for kimono.

How to sew and wear things from Pavlovo Posad shawls: youtube channel of the week

Step 1

Take measurements: measure the width of the shoulders and the width of the neck (measure by wrapping the neck with a centimeter rather freely, and then divide the result by 2).

Also determine the desired length of the kimono.

Step 2

Mark the details of the back and shelves directly on the fabric. The width of the back part is equal to the width of the shoulders + 25-30 cm, the length is the length of the kimono (according to your desire). Each shelf is half a back. Please note: if you use a tippet with trim along the edge, arrange the parts so that the trim runs along the lower edge of the back and shelves. If your stole is wide enough, cuts should remain to cut the sleeves with trim on the bottom. Cut out the details of the back and shelves.

Step 3

On the details of the shelves we form a cutout. Set aside, as shown in the photo, ½ of the neck width on each shelf, and draw a line to make a V-shaped neckline. You also need to make a slight bevel along the shoulder line, laying down about 2.5 cm and drawing a line. On the lines drawn, cut the parts of the shelves.

Step 4

Fold the back detail in half lengthwise. Put the shelf part on top and, using it as a template, outline and make a cutout from the back, plus mow the shoulder line.

Step 5

Perform shoulder seams. Flatten the seams.

Step 6

Cut out rectangular details for the sleeves. The width of the rectangles in this case is 68 cm, the length is 35 cm. If you are sewing from the stole, arrange the parts so that the bottom of the sleeves is on the processed edges of the stole. Sew on the sleeves by aligning the center of the detail of each sleeve with the shoulder seam.

Step 7

Make side seams.

Step 8

Work on the open edges of the kimono. Done.
