How to embroider a rosehip flower with ribbons

Spring is slowly taking over. To support the spring mood, we suggest embroidering with ribbons a sprig of chic rosehip.


You will need:



  • Fabric - gabardine
  • White tape 13 mm - 1.5 m; 26 mm - 1.5 m
  • Green tape: 6 mm - 1.5 m; 13 mm - 1.5 m; 25 mm - 0.5 m
  • Brown yarn
  • Yarn floss yellow and dark brown
  • Needles, hoop, scissors, lighter, watercolor paints


How to embroider a bouquet of flowers with ribbons: master class



Step 1



Tint the background with watercolor paints.

Step 2



Embroider the stalk. You can do this in different ways: with a stitch seam, a needle seam forward, or straight stitches and yarn around them. The stem will turn out to be voluminous.

Step 3



Embroider the flower with a wide ribbon with a straight ribbon stitch. Bring the needle to the front side, step back a few millimeters and take the tape to the wrong side.

Step 4



Embroider all the rosehip petals in this way.

Step 5



Embroider the upper petals by piercing the fabric and ribbons of the lower tier. The buds are also embroidered with a simple ribbon seam. It is better to lay 2-3 stitches in one place, then the buds will look more natural.

Dampen the tapes with water and tint with watercolors.

Embroider the middle with a French knot.

Step 8



Next, embroider the loops with yellow floss.

Step 9



And cut them, forming a fluffy center

Step 10



Final step, embroider the foliage. Use a straight and twisted stitch, ribbons of different shades of green.
