The history of the holiday has long been known to everyone. However, the details for which the saint suffered in ancient times, and how this all relates to love confessions, are no longer so important. Gifts are another matter.
photo: pixabayAnd the fact that for many this is not our holiday to our liking is precisely in this tradition, to present to the dear person lovely gifts that speak about the feelings of the giver.
A beautifully decorated rose, decor of the interior, gift wrapping, table setting in a romantic style or a mug painted with your own hands, homemade messages of love, a culinary masterpiece in the shape of a heart will tell a lot to the person who is dear to you about your feelings for him.
Decorate the interior and gifts in the traditional symbols of Valentine's Day!
DIY do-it-yourself cup holders
Romantic table setting
Put a napkin and a rose on a porcelain plate, and decorative wire hearts on top of it.
Take the red aluminum wire and make hearts out of it:
- first bend the wire in the shape of the letter U;
- then turn it “legs” down;
- connect the ends of the wire, twist them and cut them briefly;
- in the upper middle of the letter U, squeeze the wire so that a heart is formed.
Decorative heart of living roses
Luxurious interior decoration is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. In floristic salons you will find the basis for creating such a composition with your own hands:
- heart-shaped wire frame "upholstered" with green moss or a special floral sponge that absorbs well and retains moisture for a very long time;
- several green shoots, including ivy;
- roses of different tones and sizes with short cut stems.
Flower pot for vases with flowers
Spring flowers are especially fresh and incredibly romantic. Daffodils, tulips, muscari, corydalis and, of course, hyacinths, which will fill the whole room with their fragrance, are best suited. Do not forget about roses - traditional flowers of Valentine's Day.
Take a few wide and not very tall glass flower vases and make a decorative felt flower pot for them:
- in shape and size of a vase, cut two identical parts from felt;
- cut one or more hearts on each part;
- first sew the parts on one short side, then wrap the felt in a vase and sew the parts with each other along the second short cut;
- details of hearts use for additional decor.

Personal cup for aromatic coffee
Paint a white clay cup with a matte rough surface with bright colors or markers. Do not forget to write a confession and the name of the person to whom the gift is intended. Decorate the cup with sisal, a satin ribbon bow and a rose. Cut hearts from felt and lay them on a saucer.
Tree of lovers

Let the romantic mood meet you from the doorway. Decorating a tree near the entrance of your beloved or in the yard of a house in the country is very simple. Cut out a lot of hearts of different sizes from thick red cardboard, make a hole in each, through which pass a rope or ribbon and hang your hearts on tree branches.
